Everything counts against everything else. By the time i have my first settlement up and running, my guns customized to perfection, and my armor polished and looking swanky, fallout 5 will be out.

Hey guys, lately i've been busy building pretty cool settlements in fallout 4.

I think the key for me was the settlement building. The massive open world, with terrains ranging from arid deserts to lush jungles and snowy mountain peaks, can be traversed on foot, with a mount, or using zip lines and parkour. Sure, it has base building but not much the kind of base building game this sub is mostly about.

Simpler versions need to be in this game. And in fallout 4 (and soon fallout 4 vr), the best example of that intention was the settlement building system. New vegas and fallout 3 (games that offer a first or third person shooter experience) embedded with rpg mechanics.

I read fallout 76 was dumpster fire. Deep stranded kind of sucked. So far my favorite game component of all time has been fallout 4 settlements.

Now if you'll excuse me, i have some screws. Sadly, however, the clunkiness and limitations of the settlement building has caused the experience to run dry for me and i'm now looking for something similar. Like in fallout 4, you’ll encounter different settlements as you explore, filled with npcs offering side quests.

I tried subnautica and it was ok. Secondly, thank you folks at bethesda for making fallout 4 one of the best games ever. I liked being apart of the building.

I never liked the games where you were basically a god[ish] and point and clicked and watched things happen. I wasn't great at it but found it fun. Reduced role playing elements to make way for the fully voice acted adventure.

As mentioned earlier, defense must meet or exceed resources. Really enjoyed fallout 4, one of the few games i finished and the only game i played through multiple times. Your hard work and sheer genius is appreciated by us, the fans.

This sub should have a sticky thread about “games like fallout 4”, this comes up so many times. You could chew through missions or explore, but you can also just chill and work on building your empire. I appreciate that it’s saying ‘similar’ over ‘exactly the same’, like some lists do…but that’s kinda the main thing i’m looking for.

So far, i've seen raft and subnautica, but very few other options. Rimworld is a survival game, and like most of the games in this genre, the main objective is to guarantee the survival of the people battling against many environmental and internal factors. If you have a creative idea for building a structure or settlement, then there are tons of different video games that you can use to express yourself.

My machine can’t handle the graphics needed for fallout 4 so i’m trying to find something similar to it that’s just downgraded. You’re missing a huge factor; I think it's fairly likely it will see improvement and enhancement going forward.

Are there any other building games out there that people know of that are similar, but the settlements have more. Less quests and mysteries than previous fallout titles. You took fallout 3 and made my one regret about that game and turned it into a dream come true.
